Under 11s Division 1 - 13th December 2009 Town Moor Tigers 2 - Bessacarr FC 4 The visit to Town Moor Tigers turned out to be probably one of Bessacarr's toughest encounters to date this season and it took until the last five minutes to seal the victory. Town Moor 'upped' their game from the performance earlier in the season and worked really hard to pressure every Bessacarr player whilst on the ball, the pitch being smaller than the Bessacarr players are normally used to didn't help. It took 13 minutes of end-to-end football before the first goal came. The ball was fed through by the Town Moor midfield to catch the Bessacarr defense unusually flat footed leaving the striker one-on-one with Tom Dangerfield the Bessacarr keeper. Dangerfield raced out to cut the angle but the Town Moor striker finished coolly to slot the ball low into to the right hand corner (1 - 0). This stung Bessacarr into action and within 3 minutes the score was leveled when Tom Humphreys' shot from left of goal was juggled by the Town Moor keeper and quick thinking Carl Harden pounced to nick the ball and slot it home (1 - 1). Coming out for the second half at 1 - 1 with everything to play for the Town Moor players continued where they had left off and closed down almost every Bessacarr attempt at playing their usual passing football. It took a further 10 minutes before the deadlock was broken again when Chad Turner received the ball from one of Sam Geldard's usual long throws and found himself in space on the left. In this kind of situation there is only one thought in Turner's mind and with his usual skill he took the ball on one of his solo runs and from wide left fired over the Town Moor keeper (2 - 1). Parity was very soon restored when Town Moor won a corner from the right and after a goal mouth scramble the ball was prodded past an un-sighted Tom Dangerfield (2 - 2). This set up another period of arm-wrestling until the 45th minute when Carl Harden once again came to Bessacarr's rescue receiving the ball from a well worked Jack Wilson short corner, showing great strength and determination to work the ball through the Town Moor defense before firing high over Town Moor keeper into the roof of the net (2 - 3). With only a few minutes remaining in the game Bessacarr were finally gaining the ascendancy and Eddie Fisher gave Bessacarr a flattering scoreline when he won the ball in left central midfield, worked it with his usual pace across the front of the 18 yard box to a position just right of goal and slid it smoothly into the bottom right corner (4 - 2). Man of the Match was given to Jake Sadler who had a solid game in central defence. Bessacarr players (subs) Tom Dangerfield, Sam Geldard, Daniel Honeybone, Jake Sadler, Matthew Earl (Ben Carville 25 Mins), Tom Humphreys, Carl Harden (Will Morley 25 Mins), James Garrett (Alex O'Malley 25 Mins), Jack Wilson, Chad Turner, Jared Green (Eddie Fisher 25 Mins)
