Welcome  
The Chairman welcomed representatives from teams from the Under 11’s upwards to the meeting. In particular he was keen to seek views on: 
•       Was there anything more the Club could do to support players?
•       How can we improve the involvement and enjoyment of those playing for Bessacarr FC?
•       Do you have any other suggestions that might help the Club in general?

Training 
The boys asked if the Club would consider bringing in a ‘specialist coach’ e.g. from the Rovers to work on some extra drills and set pieces. 

Action: The Chairman agreed to speak to John Buckley and Leo Fortune-West (two former Rovers players with strong connections to the Club) to see how this could be done. He would also speak to Mike Southern and Tom White, Bessacarr FC’s Development Officers to see what more could be done to provide specialist training for certain positions e.g. the goalkeeper training at Rossington on Monday nights. Mick also agreed to speak to Managers to see if games could be arranged between different age groups at the Club e.g. Under 11’s v Under 12’s. 

The boys also asked if matches could be arranged against Football Academies so that they could see how well they were developing as a team. Mid week training had been arranged a Rossington Sports Academy (Thursday nights 6-7pm and 7-8pm).   

Football Tours    

Mick agreed to discuss with the Committee the possibility of organising a tour for another age group (at present the Under 15’s are supported in going on a European tour). 

‘World Cup’ Event 

Mick agreed to look at the possibility of arranging another World Cup event which basically involved two reps from each team coming together as one team under a nation’s flag and competing against other teams. Referee

Coaching 

Mick agreed to look at the possibility of allowing some boys to undertake referee training. He thought the minimum age was 14 years. Under 16’s Tom felt that there would be a number of players in the uNder 16 Team who would be interested in undertaking the Level 1 Coaching and/or Refereeing Courses. 

Parent involvement 

Some of the boys felt that a lot of work was being left to the managers to do and that if some parents helped out a little bit more it would help managers greatly.   

Team Selection  

Some of the boys felt that managers should give more opportunity to those players who don’t always get picked in order that it might help them improve their game. 

Refreshments 

Mick confirmed that when the new facility at Cantley Park was opened there would be the opportunity to sell drinks, sandwiches and sweets to teams.   

The boys had no other issues to raise. Mick thanked them all for giving up their time to come to the meeting. A further meeting would be held in a few months time.
