U13 Friendly v Mexborough Rovers Sunday 24 July 2011 PDF Print E-mail

On Sunday 24 July 2011 under cloudless kies Bessacarr Under 13's took a squad of 14 to play a three half friendly against Mexborough Rovers at Mexborough's Swinton Comp ground - Joe, Nathan, Connor, Tom, Liam F, Jack B, Mark, Liam K, Alex, Max, Jordan, Steven, James and Jamie B made up the numbers.

In the first half the visitors played up the slope and succumbed 2-0 in what turned out to be an even contest. A low hit free kick and an unmarked header right at the death proved Bessacarr's undoing.

In the second half playing with the slope Bessacarr dominated to run out 3-0 winners.

The final half ended 2-2 with Joe producing a memorable penalty save. Mr Pinkney senior commented 'that penalty spot looks very close to the goal' and 'don't those goals look big?' and with everyone fearing the worst Joe pulled off an excellent save - well done Joe.

Todays goal scorers were Max 2, Liam K 1, Jordan 1 and James 1.

Next training will take place at Cantley Park on Saturday 30 July 2011 9.00am - 10.15am. On Sunday 31 July 2011 we are due to play a friendly at home against Wheatley Warriors. In accordance with tradition I am sure Mr Rankine will have fired up his charges for a big performance - so a competitive game in store for sure!
 
U13 Friendly against Mexborough Rovers Sunday 24 July 2011 PDF Print E-mail

On Sunday the under 13's have a friendly arranged at Mexborough Rovers who play at Swinton Comprehensive School.

The match kicks off at 11.00am and players should arrive by 10.30am for warm up drill. Players from both the Blue and Red teams are eligible to take part in the match.

Directions (Approximate!)

For those with sat navs the post code is S64 8JN

For those without head toward Rotherham on the A630 (Balby Road)

Turn right in Conisbrough onto the A6023 and head toward Mexborough.

Continue on the A6023 through Mexborough and turn left at the end of the dual carriageway section onto the A6022 (Swinton Road). Turn left onto Woodland Crescent and then right onto The Rise. Turn left onto the Crescent and finally left again onto East Avenue which leads to the school.

Once in the school turn right immediately behind the caretakers bungalow into a car park. The pitch is ahead and to the left hand side of the playing field.

Good luck following these directions and in the match too!

On Sunday 17 July 2011 The two U13 Bessacarr teams take part in a four way practise game at Cantley Park with the under 12's and Wolverines - a newly formed under 13 team. Two matches will be played concurrently with teams swapping opponents at half time. The matches kick off at 10.30am and players should arrive by 10.00am for warm up drill.

We have a friendly against Wolverines lined up for Sunday 17 July 2011 - watch this space for details.

Also two friendlies have been arranged against Wheatley Warriors for weekend of 30/31 July 2011 and 13/14 August 2011. The first weekend is at Cantley Park and the second at Leger Way.
